  1. Bought this for my Raliegh Venture. As with most bike racks it requires a little bending where it attaches to the lower frame so that it fits properly and you don’t strip out the screws. You have to spread the lower supports and slightly bend the lower tabs. Thats what your local bike shop does and they charge you for it! Installed and ready to go in 15 minutes. Quality product.

This is a lightweight and surprisingly sturdy rack. I found it fairly easy to install although on my Schwinn Sierra (large frame) this rack couldn’t have been any smaller and still fit. It works well with a rack trunk though I haven’t attached any panniers or grocery carriers. I have yet to challenge the 30 pound weight limit, using it primarily for short day trips. It is solid yet minimalist. While clearly functional it I think it keeps a clean line with my bike. Something I’ve always wanted and I am happy.

I bought this rack at a local bike shop for my Specialized Hardrock, and needless to say, one size may fit all, but it doesn’t on my bike. The Hardrock’s rear fork sticks out because of reinforcement welding, and after jimmying with this rack for half an hour I managed to strip out the screw holes on my aluminum frame!

I doubt a return is possible, so it looks like I’ll be breaking out the big tools to bend this thing into the proper shape.

Maybe a seat-mounted rear rack would have been the way to go, but the Hardrock also has an especially thick seat neck too.
