I have a 7.5 Trek FX. After I removed the front derailleur and decided to keep only the rear one the old bolts that were designed to hold to chainrings didn't fit any more, unless I used additional washers, which were a pain in the ass to find.

These bolts solved that problem. I just installed them and they fitted right in. I cannot attest to the quality of the product as I just got it, but it seems to be pretty sturdy.

Comment on Bicycle Technology: Understanding the Modern Bicycle and its Components by Rob van der Plas

Bicycle Technology is a great book. I should know, because I wrote it myself, together with coauthor Stuart Baird. Seriously, we put our heart and soul into writing and illustrating this book. I like to say it took me 70 years to write it (well, that was my age when I finished writing it, anyway). We've tried to put in everything that is left out of most other bicycle books, including some we've written ourselves.

The object wasn't to write a book that would appeal to every cyclist, but to produce a work that would reveal all we've learned about the subject, both as cyclists and as engineers. And we didn't restrict ourselves to any particular type of bike, so you'll learn as much about folding bikes, tandems, "fixies," recumbents, and even E-bikes, as about the usual road and mountain bikes. We've shown (with the help of some 800 file illustrations) how bikes and their various components work and why they are designed and built the way they are.

Even though we've probably found enough satisfaction completing the project (after 70 years), we'd also be very happy if a good number of copies of the book get sold. That's not just because of our royalties, but mainly because we hope it will make the reader happier and wiser about bikes and riding them. Enjoy the book, and give us your feedback (including any corrections). Thanks!

The bicycle continues to be one of the most useful, efficient, and 'planet friendly' means of transportation available. The collaborative work of bicycle experts and enthusiasts Rob van der Plas and Stuart Baird, "Bicycle Technology: Understanding the Modern Bicycle and its Components" is a superbly and profusely illustrated, 320-page compendium detailing all of the parts that comprise the modern bicycle and covers the complete range of bicycle types including road bikes and mountain bikes. Beginning with informative chapters on the history and anatomy of the bicycle, "Bicycle Technology" goes on to cover the materials used in the creation of bicycles, the basics of bicycle design, and then devotes specific chapters to all of the bicycle parts and systems from the frame and the wheels, to the steering and gearing, to brakes, seats, suspension, and so much more. Of special note are the chapters dedicated to power assisted bicycles and the future of bicycles. Enhanced with an appendix, a bibliography, and an index, "Bicycle Technology" is an especially recommended instructional resource and reference for personal, academic, and community library collections.

This item was a gift I bought and the recipient is very happy with it. I ordered the XXL which although not listed as out of stock, was backordered for almost a month from the manufacturer. As listed on other sites, this jersey seems to run a little small, especially at the bottom, but this will probably stretch over time. So if you are unsure of a size, I would recommend going one larger.

The jersey itself is very good, soft microfiber. Definately a quality jersey. The colors are very vibrant, more a primary green/emerald and yellow, than some photos online that make it look a little pastel or blueish/gold. Pockets in the back are nice and overall this is a jersey I would recommend. It is slightly more expensive because its a college jersey, but that is to be expected.

Quack!

Bike jersey shipped in timely manner. Graphics on jersey are vivid. Overall quality is deemed moderate since jersey is somewhat short on material. When purchasing a name-brand bike jersey, the length is much more generous. For the $$, I expected a higher quality jersey.

I wanted some shorts that did not cost too much and were not flashy and would not look too absurd on what might be called a portly figure. These met those requirements pretty well. There is a nice zippered wallet pocket, which is plenty for me. What is kind of neat is that they nest a stretchy padded inner short inside baggy, flappy outer shorts. They have proved comfortable on daily rides of twenty miles and on longer excursions of fifty and sixty-five miles.
If I get another pair of shorts, I will look for some that have heavier padding, but I think that as others have suggested, these were a great starter pair.

These shorts were my first pair of padded cycling shorts. I bought them because they were cheap. The are comfortable and a dramatic improvement over regular shorts. The padding isn't as thick or well designed as more expensive shorts though. These days I am more likely to ride all day or on multi-day vacations and these shorts are missing a few things. The better padding of a higher quality pair and the additional pockets of a higher end mountain biking short are missing.

However, these shorts are light and they have a great fit. They are very durable (mine are nearly two years old). If I am rising around town and for an hour or two, I still wear these shorts. They are usually used for riding my stationary bike as well.

Well worth the price if you are just getting in to cycling or just needing a pair for lighter use.
